About Anne…
I’m a traveler and a devoted yoga practitioner. My travels in South East Asia began more than 30 years ago with my first job teaching English and continue today with my online teaching work. I split most of my time between Oaxaca Mexico, India and Nepal. Shorter trips to countries in SE Asia keep me on my toes.
I’ve spent most of my adult life moving between places and living more as a local than a tourist. A long-term yoga practice has been a steady thread through all of it. The grounding from my personal studies and yoga practice carries into everything else: what I eat, what I notice, and the pace I keep.
I love art, music, beaches, and mountains…and small doses of big city life. I also enjoy reading (I still carry real books), swimming (especially in the open sea with nothing to stop me), and shopping (when I have extra room in my backpack).
About the Blog…
One day in Oaxaca, Mexico, after being away for a year and a half, I began to pull out some of my things from the musty bodega my landlady had graciously allowed me to use while I was away. While sorting through clothes, pottery, and odd kitchen items I came upon a packet of fancy incense I had bought on one of my previous trip to Goa, India. I unrolled the brown paper package to find moldy incense sticks and a small, handwritten note (pictured). It read: You don’t have to get it right to start.
That note was the sign and motivation I needed to start this blog, so I got to work shortly after. It’s been a long learning journey and I’ve done everything myself. Now here we are! I hope to help travelers like myself, as well as those who might need advice or a push to choose to live a different lifestyle. The life lesson here (especially for all of us perfectionists and procrastinators) is…
You don’t have to get it right to start!
